The
tragedy of 9/11 inspired me to do this sculpture. The
figure is an ironworker, a vital helper in the rescue at the
World Trade Center. Dismantling the wreckage of the
marvel that he had built, he is balancing on a twisted beam as
he pauses to release a tear.
I wish to thank those
patient ironworkers who paused and posed for this work
